Abstract

The exponential growth in the use of TikTok and its popularity among the young population increased attention to this social network in the academic-scientific community. The #TikTokChallenge appeared as elements of social relationship with possible implications in the physical-motor field. Previous literature has shown that the use of this social network, like others, can carry risks for people's health and development, as well as can act as a transmitter of ideology and gender inequality, thus justifying the need to further research on this topic. For this purpose, the design process of two instruments for the analysis of TikTok challenges with physical-motor content from a gender perspective is described, following a five-phase process: bibliographic review, initial design, expert review, pilot tests and final design-review. Specifically, two instruments are justified and disclosed: "Observational coding system of physical-motor #TikTokChallenge with a gender perspective" and "Observational-critical scale of the coeducational value of physical-motor #TikTokChallenges”. The importance of the application of these instruments is discussed to promote the critical analysis of physical-motor behaviors and images disclosed on TikTok and promote a responsible use of it.
