Participación en Actividades Físicas y Deportivas: ¿qué características llevan a los atletas a ser convocados a los equipos de baloncesto en Brasil?

Resumen

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar la relación entre el compromiso personal de los deportistas y la convocatoria a las selecciones estatales y nacionales de baloncesto, específicamente motivación, interés e implicación en actividades físicas y deportivas en el ámbito escolar y en otras modalidades. Se utilizó el método mixto con diseño explicativo secuencial y orientación pragmática. Participaron 141 deportistas de baloncesto, de 18 y 19 años, ambos los sexos. Se utilizó el Instrumento de Evaluación del Entrenamiento Deportivo de Baloncesto (IAFEB). Diferencias entre grupos de edad se analizaron mediante la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis (SPSS). En la fase cualitativa se realizaron entrevistas retrospectivas en profundidad a 24 deportistas mediante un guión semiestructurado. Manejo de datos y organización de temas en la etapa de análisis se realizó mediante el software NVivo. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los deportistas comenzaron a jugar baloncesto a partir de 11 años, sólo 10% fueron convocados para la selección estatal y 5% para la selección nacional. Los deportistas que no participaron en clases de Educación Física tuvieron menos probabilidades de ser convocados para selección estatal. Asimismo, los deportistas que jugaron baloncesto con interés en entrenar entre 11 y 14 años tuvieron menos probabilidades de ser convocados para las selecciones estatal (83%) y nacional (81%).

    She holds a degree in Physical Education (2016) and a postgraduate degree in Basketball from Faculdade de Telêmaco Borba (FATEB). Master's degree (2019) and PhD (2023) in Human Movement Sciences from Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC). Member and researcher at the Laboratory of Research in Pedagogical Practices of Physical Education (LAPRAPEF). Managing Partner of MF Assessoria Esportiva and basketball coach for training categories. Her research focuses on the themes of sports training and education, sports pedagogy, performance evaluation, technical-tactical training, the effect of relative age, basketball and sports.

  • Mariana Klauck Beirith, State University of Santa Catarina

    Master's degree in Human Movement Sciences from the State University of Santa Catarina. Postgraduate degree in Football from the University of Leipzig, Germany (2024). Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the State University of Santa Catarina (2022). Researcher linked to the Center for Studies in Sports Management and Marketing (NEPEGEM), the Research Group on Sports Development and Management (DGEsp) and the Laboratory of Pedagogical Practices in Physical Education (LAPRAPEF). Works mainly in the areas of sports pedagogy, athlete training, sports management and social responsibility.

  • Alexandra Folle, State University of Santa Catarina

    She holds a degree in Physical Education (2002) and a specialization in School Sports (2004) from the Regional Community University of Chapecó. She holds a Master's degree (2009) and a PhD in Physical Education (2014) from the Postgraduate Program in Physical Education at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education and the Postgraduate Program in Human Movement Sciences at the Center for Health and Sports Sciences at the State University of Santa Catarina. She is Vice-Coordinator of the Laboratory for Research in Pedagogical Practices in Physical Education (LAPRAPEF) and a Member of the Laboratory for Research in Leisure and Physical Activity (LAPLAF). She is a member of the International Basketball Research Network, which includes researchers from seven countries. She has experience in the area of ​​Physical Education, with an emphasis on School Physical Education and sports training, working mainly on the following topics: Supervised Curricular Internship; teaching career; professional development; pedagogical practice/School Physical Education; job satisfaction; quality of life; sports initiation; performance evaluation; technical-tactical training; basketball.
