El efecto de la edad relativa en el fútbol federado de Castilla y León (RFCyLF)

El objetivo general del estudio fue analizar las fechas de nacimiento de 36.268 jugadores de fútbol con licencia federativa inscrita el 1 de enero de 2025, correspondientes a 350 equipos de las distintas divisiones de fútbol base de la Real Federación de Castilla y León de Fútbol (RFCyLF) con el fin de observar el efecto de la edad relativa (RAE). La fecha de nacimiento del jugador se clasificó en trimestres (T1, T2, T3 y T4), cuatrimestres (C1, C2 y C3) y semestres (S1 y S2). Se analizó el RAE en función del tipo de categoría según sexo (Mixto, Masculino y Femenino), edad (Debutante, Prebenjamín, Benjamín, Alevín, Infantil, Cadete y Juvenil), nivel de competición (Provincial o Regional) y la combinación de estos factores. Se aplicó la prueba Chi-cuadrado (χ²) para analizar diferencias entre frecuencias observadas y esperadas. Se calcularon los Odds Ratio (IC 95%) para evaluar la asociación entre las distintas agrupaciones temporales. Los resultados evidencian una sobrerrepresentación de jugadores participantes en la RFCyLF nacidos en los primeros meses del año con respecto a los nacidos en los últimos meses independientemente del sexo. Esta sobrerrepresentación es más evidente en categorías de menor edad (Debutantes, Prebenjamín y Benjamín) y en categorías regionales masculinas.
