Guidelines for authors

AUTHORS’ RECOMMENDATIONS:

- The content of the paper must be original and unpublished.

- The document must be submitted corrected, without misspellings or style.

- Texts with content that promote some type of discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity or nationality are not published. The journal is not responsible for the opinions of the authors or readers.

- The EBM journal recommends the use of inclusive and non-sexist language.

- The EBM journal recommends, when appropriate, conducting a sex/gender analysis that addresses the relevance of these variables in the methodology, results, discussion, limitations, and future outlook of the research presented.

- The EBM-J reserves the right to introduce the modifications it deems appropriate in the application of the publication guidelines, which will be informed appropriately. Originals sent will not be returned.

- The articles will be submitted for review through the online system of the journal.

- For online submissions, you must use the journal’s platform [Registration is required]. This option will allow you to know the status of your paper at all time.

DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT:

Submission of four files:

  • Article: The text must be presented using the template provided by the journal [Download Template]. (Apa 7th edition)
    The article should be anonymous, without names or professional affiliations; moreover, the information from the Bioethics Committee and the contribution of each author should be anonymized at this stage.
  • Identification Document: Use the first page of the template without the rest of the manuscript (Names, affiliation, ORCID, corresponding author, acknowledgements, sources of funding).
  • Letter to the Editorial Committee: This should be converted into a single PDF containing the following: Request for article evaluation, Certification of originality, Assignment of Rights, Specification of each author’s contribution to the article's preparation, and signed by all authors.   • Anti-plagiarism Report: E-balonmano Com recommended to submit a file containing an anti-plagiarism report.  Before publication, all accepted articles may undergo an anti-plagiarism check performed by the Editorial Board. This report can be obtained from any software that generates anti-plagiarism reports:

Moreover, the journal accepts supplementary files accompanying the original article to enrich and more comprehensively document the presented research. These additional materials may include:

  • Supplementary data: Datasets that have contributed to the results (Formats: .ods, .xlsx, .csv, .sav, .rda, etc.). Authors may also use other institutional repositories that can be linked to the article.

  • Images: Complementary diagrams or infographics summarizing the article’s content (Formats: .jpg, .png, .tiff, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi).

  • Videos: Short recordings illustrating procedures, interviews, educational experiences, presentations of results, or any other relevant research content (Formats: .mp4, .mov, with a maximum resolution of 720p, optimized for web compression).

  • Other formats: .pdf, .zip (for grouping multiple materials).

On the first page should appear:

- The title of the article in Spanish (must be brief and representative of its content followed by the title in English and optionally in Portuguese. For articles written in Portuguese it is necessary to put it first. The recommended length of the title is between 12 and 15 words.

- Do not identify the authors.

 - The abstract in Spanish (must not have more than 200 words) followed by the keywords in Spanish (between 3 and 5 keywords). It is recommended to use different words from the title.

- The abstract in English, abstract, followed by the English keywords.

- Optionally, the abstract and keywords can be placed in Portuguese. For articles written in Portuguese it is necessary to place the abstract in this language followed by the abstract and keywords in Spanish and English.

The article body:

- It should preferably be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English.

- Avoid bottom of the page notes. If this is not possible, they must appear at the end of the text.

- The text of the observation and experimentation articles are usually, but not necessarily, divided into the following sections: Introduction, Method (remember to include aspects related to research ethics), Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Applications, practices and References.

- The text may be accompanied by illustrations, tables, figures, photos, graphics, sketches in digital format (.jpg, .png, .bmp or .gif) in color or black and white. They should be placed where they want them to appear in the manuscript. It is recommended to use the Apa 7th Edition format to prepare this complementary material.
